Permanent Exhibition

상설전은 컬렉션 미술관인 구하우스의 소장품으로 이루어진 전시로, ‘집 같은 미술관’을 컨셉으로 미술과 디자인 작품들을 편안하게 감상할 수 있습니다. 세계적인 작가의 회화, 조각, 사진, 설치, 영상 등 다양한 장르의 컨템포러리 작품과 더불어 가구와 조명, 거울 등 디자인 작품들이 일상 생활 공간 같은 전시장에서 어우러져 펼쳐집니다.

<Zettel'z 5>는 잉고 마우러의 대표작 중 하나인 ‘샹들리에’ 시리즈이다. ‘zettel’은 ‘메모지’라는 뜻의 독일어로, 반투명한 드로잉 31장과 빈 종이 49장으로 이루어진 조명이다.

복잡한 그림자의 형태가 인상적이며 조명의 본래 목적 뿐 아니라 빈 종이에 각각 컬러링, 메모, 드로잉을 할 수 있다. ‘자신의 스케치’ 또는 ‘텍스트’를 추가하는 과정에서 소유자 혹은 사용자만의 조명을 완성하게 되며, 종이의 무수한 배열에 따라 ‘독창적인 디자인’으로 매 순간 새롭게 구성된다.

작은 클램프로 고정되어 있는 종이는 샹들리에의 조광 조절 역할을 함과 동시에 종이 사이로 비춰지는 빛의 부서짐으로 실내의 분위기를 한층 고조시킨다.

<Zettel'z 5> is one of Ingo Maurer's iconic works from the 'Chandelier' series. 'Zettel' means 'note' or 'memorandum' in German, and this lighting fixture consists of 31 transparent sheets with drawings and 49 blank sheets of paper.

Its complex interplay of shadows is striking, allowing not only for illumination but also for each blank sheet to be colored, annotated, or drawn on by its owner or user, thus completing their own unique light fixture through the addition of 'personal sketches' or 'text'. Depending on the myriad arrangements of the paper, it is continuously reconfigured into a 'distinctive design' moment by moment.

The sheets, secured by small clamps, serve both to adjust the lighting of the chandelier and to enhance the indoor ambiance with the light that filters through the gaps between the papers.


잉고 마우러  Ingo Maurer (1932~2019, 독일/Germany)


1960년부터 1963년까지 그래픽 디자이너로 활동하다가, 뮌헨에 'Design M’이라는 산업디자인 회사를 설립했다. 창의적이고 차별적인 발상으로 조명을 예술과 연결한다는 점에서 찬사를 받고 있다. 


He worked as a graphic designer from 1960 to 1963 before founding an industrial design company called 'Design M' in Munich. He is praised for connecting lighting with art through creative and distinctive concepts.
