Permanent Exhibition

상설전은 컬렉션 미술관인 구하우스의 소장품으로 이루어진 전시로, ‘집 같은 미술관’을 컨셉으로 미술과 디자인 작품들을 편안하게 감상할 수 있습니다. 세계적인 작가의 회화, 조각, 사진, 설치, 영상 등 다양한 장르의 컨템포러리 작품과 더불어 가구와 조명, 거울 등 디자인 작품들이 일상 생활 공간 같은 전시장에서 어우러져 펼쳐집니다.

가에타노 페세는 1969년 밀라노 가구박람회에 출품한 <업 시리즈(Up Series)> 디자인으로 명성을 얻게 되는데, <‘Up 5’ chair and ‘Up 6’ Ottoman>는 이 시리즈 중 가장 유명한 작품이다.

여체를 닮은 풍만하고 부드러운 의자(Up 5)와 공 모양의 오토만(Up 6)으로 이루어져 있으며, 둥글고 부드러운 형태는 여성의 신체를 과장하여 강조했던 ‘빌렌도르프 비너스’의 몸을 연상시키기도 한다. 또한, 모성 도상에서 느낄 수 있는 편안함과 안정성을 동시에 갖춘 디자인이다.

Gaetano Pesce gained fame with his "Up Series" design, which he presented at the 1969 Milan Furniture Fair. The "Up 5" chair and "Up 6" Ottoman are the most famous pieces in this series.

The "Up 5" chair, resembling a voluptuous and soft female body, and the "Up 6" Ottoman, shaped like a ball, are reminiscent of the exaggerated and emphasized forms of the female body seen in the "Venus of Willendorf." The design combines comfort and stability, evoking the iconography of motherhood.


가에타노 페세 Gaetano Pesce (1939~, 이탈리아/Italy)


건축가이자 가구 디자이너인 '가에타노 페세'는 베니스 대학에서 건축을 전공하며, 조각, 회화, 영화, 디자인 등을 폭넓게 공부하였다. 대표작은 <래그 채어(Rag chair), 1972>, <달리알 체어(Dalial chair), 1980>이며, <뉴욕 선라이즈(New York Sunrise)> 소파로 세계적인 디자이너로 평가받는다.


Architect and furniture designer, Gaetano Pesce studied architecture at the University of Venice, where he also explored sculpture, painting, film, and design. His notable works include the <Rag chair> (1972), <Dalial chair> (1980), and the globally acclaimed <New York Sunrise> sofa. Pesce is renowned internationally as a designer for his innovative creations that blend art and functionality.
